Paul, a couple comments

1st it’s the “Beautiful Flint Hills” not simply the “Flint Hills”. At least that’s the way I remember the sign on 35 from Emporia towards Oklahoma City.

2nd. Always remember that successful businesses take more than they give. If you can’t figure out who the fool is in any transaction it might be best to look in a mirror.

3rd. Welcome to home ownership and life in the money pit. You now have significant financial interest keeping you in Kansas, and I hope your girlfriend likes Kansas.

I appreciate the real world perspective you provide of the financial situation we all find ourselves in. Keep it coming.

the paper is interesting…i couldn’t make it through section 4. there’s only so many ways you can prove that someone was played 3 shell monte with funds.

all in all, i think the larger scarier thing about this paper is the insider look at not only operating under the assumption that investment banks and financial institutions were playing this game, but how aggressively the quest for hgiher risk, higher payout vehicles can just completely destroy the economy and markets.

the one resonating thing that continues to ring true: the worst part of capitalism doesn’t care who you are – get out of the way while i get my goddamn money.
