Long Shot/ Halloween – m4w – 44 (The Station/Madison)
Halloween Night you had a Devil outfit on and my friend and I stood right next to you and your crew, I think you winked at me once. I have not stopped thinking about you. Tell me who was standing with you and I will know it was you!!!
Dear Long Shot,
I regret to inform you I am not the Devil you stood “right next to” on Halloween. I do, however, have a few questions for you. First off, do you realize it is now Jan. 16, 2012? In the off chance that Devil girl did wink at you and was so interested in you that she decided to check the missed connections page to see if you posted about her, she might have checked for up to a week after Halloween, but unless she is like me and looks at these for laughs, she isn’t going to be checking more than three months later
My second question for you is this: If you were so interested in her that you’re still thinking about her in January, why didn’t you talk to her while you were both at the bar? I understand that she was with her “crew,” but it is a bar, and people talk to other people at bars. It’s not weird to approach a “crew” and start chatting them up. If she did wink at you, she probably would’ve been receptive to advances.
And how about this question: Why are you still thinking about this particular lady? Not to be insensitive, but at this point, if I were the Devil lady and read this ad, I would be freaked out. I’d probably get a security system installed in my house and ask a male friend or relative to stay with me until I was able to find a job on the other side of the country so I could move. You sound desperate. My recommendation would be to move on. The fact that you have been idealizing your mystery woman for almost three months means that even if you meet her and have a few things in common, she is never going to live up to the high expectations your mind has created.
Oh, and one last one: Did you realize that missed connections is almost exclusively used for random hook-ups? If she was keen on meaningless lust she probably would’ve talked to you at the bar even though you were too much of a coward to talk to her.
