Throughout my basketball career, I spent countless hours traveling, practicing, lifting, receiving treatment, lodging, and dining with other basketball players. These activities provided far too much time for conversation – conversation that often devolved into hypothetical debate.
Lil’ Wayne or Jay-Z? Tom Brady or Peyton Manning? Nike or Adidas? Kim K’s booty, Nicki Minaj’s booty, Beyonce’s booty, or Serena’s booty? Obama or Romney? Err…
Anyway, one specific debate came up much more often than the others: who is the greatest basketball player of all time? Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, or Lebron James?
Three players good enough to be known only by their first names.
Mike. Kobe. Lebron.
But, truthfully, this debate bored me. Still does.
So, I came up with a new topic:
Jordan, Bryant, or James – which surname would build the best team? Or, is there a different name that would beat them all?
To find an answer, I scoured the NBA player database and assembled hypothetical teams made up of NBA players who share the same last name. I then came up with a top 10 and ranked them from top to bottom.
And here they are:
